Donita Devance, MCRP

Associate Director, University-Community Partnerships

Donita Devance is Associate Director of OUCP. She has extensive expertise in project development and management, applied research, program evaluation, and grant writing. Her research background includes projects in human capital development, community development, community health assessment, and best practices research.

Prior to her appointment at OUCP, Donita served as Senior Project Manager for the Joseph C. Cornwall Center for Metropolitan Studies at Rutgers Newark for 9 years. Previously, she held several positions on the New Brunswick campus. She served as Project Manager and Assistant Director of the Community Development Institute for the Center for Urban Policy Research; Assistant Research Director for the American Affordable Housing Institute; and as Project Manager for the AIDS and Aging Research Group at the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy, and Aging Research. Through many of these initiatives she effectively coordinated partnerships between community, government and academia.

Donita holds a Master’s in City and Regional Planning from the Edward W. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy.  She has served on a number of boards and committees that addressed a wide range of community needs throughout the state and brings a strong tradition of service learning and community outreach.
